Are you a forward-thinking leader passionate about early childhood education? We are seeking an Executive Director for our Child Development Center in Laurel, MD. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, experienced, and dedicated to providing quality care and education for children from birth to age 6.
Qualifications:
· Must meet MSDE Office of Childcare Director Credential requirements.
· Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field is highly preferred.
· Four (4) or more years of center leadership/management experience is highly preferred. At least two (2) years of center leadership/management is required in an Early Childhood Education facility serving children from birth to age 6.
· CPR and First Aide Certification required.
· Medication Administration and Emergency Preparedness Certifications preferred. Must obtain within 60 days of employment.
· Ability to train and mentor center leadership and a team of educators, ensuring program quality.
· Ability to think strategically and provide innovative leadership.
· Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal skills, and strong computer technology skills are required.
Responsibilities:
· Provide visionary leadership to the Child Development Center, promoting excellence in early childhood education and care, and anticipating needs of the children, families, and staff.
· Convey and display mastery of licensing regulations, accreditation, and QRIS, including the ability to prepare for site visits, communicate with licensing specialist and assessors, and adapt to changes within regulations and standards governing the program.
· Oversee the dissemination of information, policies, procedures, and reports to internal and external stakeholders.
· Ensure the center operates in compliance with state/local requirements, and contract deliverables; Avoids risks by understanding current and proposed regulations; enforcing requirements; and recommending new or revising policies/procedures.
· Supervise curriculum and developmental assessment process to meet or exceed the standard. Support inclusive early intervention services and accommodations for students.
· Provide training to all staff (child development, curriculum, health/safety standards, operating systems, standard operating procedures, licensing regulations, accreditation/QRIS, and company policies and procedures). Give staff timely feedback including classroom observations, one-on-ones and performance evaluations.
· Ensure the center is always fully staffed with high performing teachers by actively sourcing, training, coaching, and engaging with current and prospective employees.
· Proactively address concerns, considering the needs and opinions of both internal and external customers without compromising the company brand and reputation.
· Deliver consistent business results, measured through family/staff retention and conversion, enrollment growth, and business operations.
