Archaeologist
Requirements: Must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualification standards for Archeology, Minimum of a Masters degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or Architectural History, valid driver’s license, PC skills, and MS Office knowledge/skills, especially Word and Excel. Candidate must have demonstrated writing skills. Snake River Plain and/or Great Basin experience is preferred.
Duties: This is a mid to senior level position assisting the client in a variety of disciplines and compiling cultural resource documentation in compliance with the section 106. Duties include gathering cultural resource data for interpretation, and maintaining regulatory compliance standards in cultural resource areas. The position includes some fieldwork; however, the majority of work will be done in the office.
- Minimum education requirement is a Masters in anthropology/archaeology.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations and guidelines on cultural resources, in particular 106 compliance.
- Demonstrated experience writing and preparing cultural resources technical reports.
- Candidates must be able to lift 35-lbs and, when needed, work in open terrain outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
- Travel, when required, will be to support staff as needed and do field checks depending on project location and scale.
- Office-based work will be set up in the Boise office with a flexible schedule.
- Field inventory, monitoring, evaluative testing, and site mitigation within the state Idaho and potential surrounding states.
- Additional travel can be required to support business and professional development.
