The Purchasing Agent will perform administrative and clerical duties for the purchasing and inventory control department and assist in managing the company's materials inventory.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Purchases goods and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts and other available discounts.
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete, and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
- Monitors shipping notices to avoid potential problems with deliveries.
- Generates final invoicing for finished products or services.
- Communicates / coordinates with managers and other teams to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Creates, tracks, and coordinates product orders and follows up if there are any issues.
- Assist in documenting purchasing policies and procedures, including the ability to recommend and implement process improvements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
