We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, a passion for working with young children, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance with state regulations. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom environment, and fostering strong relationships with families.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Create and implement a curriculum that aligns with Ohio’s 2024 Early Learning and Development Standards.
- Classroom Management: Create and sustain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment conducive to the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth of each child.
- Assessment & Documentation: Conduct regular developmental assessments using state-approved tools, maintaining accurate and detailed records of each child’s progress.
- Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, offering regular updates and resources to support their child’s development.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed on the latest trends and best practices in early childhood education.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with Department of Children and Youth (DCY) regulations, including health and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a lead teacher in a licensed early childhood program, with a strong understanding of Ohio’s Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) system.
- Skills:
- Expertise in child development and curriculum planning.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proficient in using technology for educational purposes.
- Certifications: Must meet all DCY requirements, including current CPR and First Aid certification.
