Title : Civil Engineer
Duties :
The Civil Engineer will work under supervision of a licensed professional engineer and the job duties include, but are not limited to :
- Design Stormwater Management Facilities : Develop comprehensive stormwater management plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including drainage systems, retention ponds, and erosion control measures, to mitigate flood risks and ensure environmental sustainability.
- Prepare Sediment Control Plans : Design erosion and sediment control measures Using AutoCAD Civil 3D to minimize soil erosion and protect water quality during construction activities, adhering to regulatory guidelines and best practices.
- Site Planning : Collaborate with project teams to optimize site layouts, infrastructure placement, and land use considerations, balancing functional requirements with aesthetic and environmental concerns.
- Assist with Floodplain and Feasibility Studies : Conduct thorough assessments of flood risks, hydraulic modeling, and feasibility studies to inform project decision-making and regulatory compliance.
- Perform Research and Write Reports : Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare comprehensive reports detailing engineering findings, recommendations, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Research Code Requirements : Stay abreast of local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards applicable to project sites, ensuring compliance and facilitating permitting processes.
- Assist in Editing Technical Specifications : Review and revise technical specifications, drawings, and design documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to project requirements.
- Project Coordination : Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to coordinate project activities, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely delivery within budgetary and regulatory constraints.
- Prepare Water Main and Sanitary Sewer Plans : Design water distribution and wastewater collection systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including pipe networks, pump stations, and treatment facilities, to meet project demands and regulatory standards.
- Prepare Pipe Culvert Calculations : Perform hydraulic calculations and design pipe culverts, bridges, and drainage structures to safely convey stormwater runoff and minimize flood risks.
- Prepare Project Cost Estimates : Develop accurate cost estimates, material quantities, and construction schedules to support project budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation.
- Prepare Bid Schedule : Develop comprehensive bid schedules, procurement documents, and contract specifications to solicit competitive bids and select qualified contractors for project implementation.
Travel Requirements : Incidental domestic travel to unanticipated client locations.
Education : U.S. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
