What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Water's Edge Yacht Club?
Overview
We are looking for an experienced second equipment operator to join our team. The Equipment Operator is responsible for moving, hauling and launching all vessels on location. The successful candidate would be offered the opportunity to acquire additional skill sets within the boatyard and marina operations. Ability to operate power and sail vessels is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including Marine Travelift & Heavy Forklift.
- Be able to operate machinery efficiently, effectively and demonstrate safe handling of boats.
- Hauling, launching and racking boats.
- Perform related tasks such as pressure washing, blocking & standing of boats.
- Inspect, maintain equipment to ensure proper operations.
- Maintaining the yard to keep it tidy, safe and operational.
- General facilities & property maintenance as needed.
- Communicate effectively with the General Manager and the office administration.
- Able to be consistent with following procedures.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience operating heavy equipment.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Clean driving record, a must.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
- Marina Forklift & Travelift experience, a plus.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Willingness to work as part of our team.
- General knowledge of boats and associated terminology a plus but not necessary, will train the right person.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.54 - $24.33 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends
