Water2Wine Cruises the Tri-Cities' premier dining vessel is currently recruiting for part-time seasonal servers. We are looking for friendly individuals who can deliver first-class dining experiences.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and problem-solver who works well with team members. A friendly and personable demeanor is essential, as guests enjoy interacting with the crew as part of their dining experience. Enthusiasm, drive, and a passion for the service industry are crucial to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and take food and beverage orders.
- Sell beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages to guests.
- Demonstrate wine knowledge, including proper opening and pouring techniques at the table.
- Serving dishes efficiently and attentively to guests.
- Maintain knowledge of the menu and be able to answer guest questions about dishes.
- Anticipate guest needs and address requests promptly.
- Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor throughout the event.
- Address any guest concerns or dietary restrictions
- Work as a team with the Cruise Lead, bartender, and fellow servers.
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Event setup includes but is not limited to setting up tables, chairs, linens, and decorative elements according to event specifications. Placing necessary utensils, plates, and glassware on tables.
- Clean Up and Breakdown: Clearing tables removing dirty dishes and assisting with post-event cleanup of the West Star
Requirements:
- Provide outstanding customer service to every guest encountered on the West Star.
- Check the customer's identification and confirm it meets the legal drinking age.
- Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.
- Attention to detail: Ensuring accurate orders and proper food presentation.
- Excellent communication skills: Ability to interact with guests professionally and clearly.
- Strong teamwork: Collaborating effectively with other servers and kitchen staff.
- The ability to keep the vessel organized, stocked, and clean.
- Physical stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 pounds.
- Efficient multitasking abilities and strong organizational skills.
- Flexibility: Adapting to different event types and schedules.
- Attention to cleanliness and safety.
- Food safety knowledge: Understanding proper food handling and hygiene practices.
- Must be available to work weekends, including daytime, evening, and holiday
- shifts.
- Food Handler’s Card and a Washington State MAST Card are required.
- Catering server experience is a plus.
- Strong wine knowledge is a plus
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening and remain drug-free, as all employees are part of the maritime consortium and will be randomly tested throughout the year.
Seasonal/part-time position. Working hours vary and include days, evenings, and holidays.
This position may involve cross-training for roles as a bartender and helping in the galley.
