This position will be with Desert Environmental, LLC, an affiliate of WaterBridge Operating, LLC.

Summary Of Position:

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for moving waste throughout the facility for treatment and disposal by operating various equipment, such as dozers, excavators, loaders, and dump trucks.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents most of the position's duties but is not meant to be all-inclusive or prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating a variety of heavy equipment used in a landfill.
  • Performing pre-shift safety inspections on the vehicle systems, equipment, and accessories.
  • Performing routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and referring defects or needed repairs to the supervisor.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping of equipment.
  • Assisting in maintenance and repairs if needed.
  • Assisting with the operation of other equipment as needed.
  • Conducting all business activities in accordance with health and safety policies and legal compliance requirements and bringing problems to the attention of the supervisor, superintendent, and/or HSE.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months years of related experience is required. 1 year experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating one or more of the following:
    • Articulating Dump Truck
    • Motor Grader
    • Excavator
    • Loader
    • Dozer
  • Live in Pecos, TX, or within a 30-mile radius from Pecos, TX, required.
    • Company-paid housing will be provided during your working shift.
  • Live in Orla, TX, or within a 60-mile radius from Orla, TX, required.
    • Company-paid housing will be provided during your working shift.
Working Conditions/Environment:

  • Operates in a field environment.
    • May be subject to environments that are extreme in nature, such as heat, cold, etc.
    • The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to:
      • Standing, walking, or sitting for prolonged periods.
      • Walking on uneven and vegetated terrain; sampling activities such as hand auguring for soil sample collection.
      • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
      • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and must be able to carry a self-contained breathing apparatus if needed. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type:

  • This is a full-time position.
    • 14/7 (14 days on 7 days off) Rotational Schedule
    • 12-hour shifts
