About the Chamber
The Waterbury Regional Chamber is a business membership organization focused on serving its 1,000 members as a resource, network, and advocate. The Chamber serves Waterbury and 14 of its surrounding towns, offering a wide range of resources and business development opportunities. Working at the Chamber requires one to be an enthusiastic team player with a passion for supporting the local business community and a willingness to develop and execute creative and valuable programming. The Waterbury Regional Chamber also includes the Naugatuck Chamber, Southbury Chamber and Watertown-Oakville Chamber.
Key Role Responsibilities:
As the first person our members interact with on the telephone and in person, the Administrative Assistant must be friendly, outgoing, and helpful. The successful candidate is proficient in all Office software and has a customer service focus whether in the office or at an in-person event. The fulfillment of these responsibilities will include, but is not limited to:
· Providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office
· Answering phone calls and supporting visitors
· Picking up, collating, and distributing mail
· Carrying out various administrative duties
· Exhibiting polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail
· Supporting team by performing tasks related to organization
· Providing information by answering questions and requests
· Assisting in execution of Chamber events, including registration, name tag generation, and day-of event support
· Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
· Support functions for Young Professional programs and membership events
Skills and Qualifications:
· Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
· Ability to meet key deadlines and manage multiple projects
· Self-motivated and enthusiastic team-oriented attitude
· Must maintain a professional appearance
· Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle
Office Hours:
· Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, plus attendance at events, which may be before, during, or after these scheduled hours.
