Waterford Public Schools has a vacancy for a team-oriented individual. Waterford Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach at Waterford High School for the Fall of the 2025-2026 school year.

The District’s facilities include three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. The Waterford Board of Education is a nine-member elected body.
Support the head coach in managing the boys' soccer program while serving as the head coach for the junior varsity (JV) team, focusing on player development, team-building, and program continuity between JV and varsity levels.
Assistant Coach Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach with planning and conducting varsity practices, games, and team activities.
- Teach and reinforce soccer techniques, strategies, and rules across the program.
- Monitor player safety and ensure compliance with all safety and CIAC regulations.
- Support program management, including equipment maintenance and scheduling.
- Provide feedback to the head coach about player development and team needs.
Head JV Coach Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and lead all JV practices and games.
- Develop JV players’ technical skills, tactical understanding, and sportsmanship.
- Manage game strategies and in-game adjustments for the JV team.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the JV team and the varsity head coach to ensure program consistency.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding JV schedules, expectations, and player progress.
- Connecticut Coaching Permit and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications.
- Experience coaching or playing soccer (preferred).
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Qualifications

Coaching Experience: CT Coaching Certification Required.
- Experience in soccer preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
