Waterford Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach. The assignment will be determined by the Head Coach based on availability and experience. The Assistant Coach may assist with Varsity and Junior Varsity.

Job Summary:
The Girls Lacrosse Assistant Coach (Head JV Coach) will support the Head Coach in all aspects of the program, including player development, game strategy, and team culture. The assistant coach will help create a positive and competitive environment that fosters student-athlete growth, both on and off the field.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and conducting practices, drills, and skill development sessions.
- Support the Head Coach with game preparation, scouting, and in-game strategy.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
- Ensure player safety by adhering to proper training techniques, conditioning programs, and injury prevention measures.
- Help coordinate logistics, equipment management, and game-day operations.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administrators.
- Adhere to all school, league, and state athletic association policies and regulations.
- Represent the school and program positively in the community.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- CT Coaching Certification (REQUIRED TO OBTAIN)
- Previous coaching or playing experience in lacrosse.
- Strong knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, athletic department, and school staff.
- CPR/First Aid certification (REQUIRED)
- Ability to pass a background check (REQUIRED)
- Experience working with high school athletes in an educational or coaching setting.
- Understanding of strength and conditioning principles for lacrosse players.
