Marine Service Writer / Warranty Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Service Writer to join our team. As a Service Writer, you will play a vital role in providing excellent customer service, strong background in boat diagnostics, maintenance and service writing. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the warranty administrator in tracking and verifying warranty work completion.
- Coordinate with the delivery captain and new boat scheduler to ensure boats are prepped and ready for scheduled deliveries.
- Maintain clear communication with the parts department to monitor service needs and parts availability for jobs in progress.
- Assist in writing estimates for service customers and the sales department.
- Process and manage repair orders as needed.
- Provide customers with clear repair explanations and updates.
- Work with the shop foreman and delivery captain to verify job completion and ensure boats are customer-ready.
- Coordinate with subcontractors when necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
- Basic technical knowledge of boat and engine systems or prior experience as a marine technician.
- Familiarity with Lightspeed EVO software is a plus.
- Some management experience is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Excel for data tracking and reporting.
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and warranty work.
- Excellent communication skills for team coordination and customer interactions.
