What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Manager_Mobile Mission position at Waterfront Rescue Mission?
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Mission Director, Mobile, the Operations Manager takes care of the day to day operations so ministry staff can focus on teaching, counseling, preaching, etc. This position directly supervises all Support Staff positions (including but not limited to; Food Services Manager, Cook, Van Driver, Foreman, Chaplain's Assistant, Overnight Staff, etc.).
Job Qualifications:
- Christian Commitment: Must exemplify and model Christian behaviors and values and possess high levels of ethics, honesty and character.
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree Management, Social Work or related field; and two or more years related experience and/or training in ministry operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience in management level positions.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the WRM's insurance carrier.
- Operations Management desired.
- Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Clearance for the purposes of being able to gain access and enter data into the HMIS Case Management System.
- Must be willing to sign WRM's Statement of Faith

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- This position serves as the Manager on Duty when the Director of Mission is off campus or unavailable.
- Coordinates appointments for clients and transportation to and from the scheduled appointments.
- Takes inventories; develops, places, and receives orders for supplies; collects data; makes detailed reports, keeps manual counts, etc.
- Creates & manages; weekly cooking, cleaning, laundry, housekeeping schedules, special events and functions.
- Assists Chaplains in addressing client needs, problems, etc. when needed.
- Oversees day to day operations of facilities and client activities; manages interruptions on behalf of staff.
- Charged with responsibility for overall day-to-day facility maintenance needs and operations with authority to facilitate decisions and when required, to act on behalf of the Program Manager versus a Support Staff
- Directly supervise the following Mission positions: Mission Support Staff, Food Services Managers, Volunteers (internal and external)
- This position will obtain and maintain Safe Serve certification.
- Some travel may be necessary for training & temporary duty.
- Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other Mission management.
Computer Skills:

- Intermediate computers skills are required for this position, which include aptitude in the use of the Internet, e-mail, spreadsheets, and maintaining data bases through means of accurately and proficiently entering data.
- Must be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office Suite & case management software; basic computer and typing skills a must.
