About the Role

In this active role, the Director of Creative Strategy will take on four main responsibilities :

  • Leadership of client brands and creative project workstreams : Actively participate in and present a variety of deliverables, simultaneously developing new brands and nurturing existing client identities to build reputation and growth.
  • Consultation and partnership with clients : Use your experience and personality to become a trusted thought-partner for senior-level clients, fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Stewardship of the Waterhouse brand : Continually enhance the visual and verbal identities of Waterhouse, inspiring engagement and loyalty through exemplary leadership.
  • Vision and inspiration : Exhibit a presence that rallies the internal Waterhouse team around new opportunities and a collective vision for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Collaborating with both the Waterhouse and client teams to generate fresh ideas for branding, promotional campaigns, and corporate and employer brand communications.
  • Developing and executing innovative concepts and activations.
  • Ensuring that designs and content consistently embody and uplift the brand image and company values—from initial concept to omni-channel execution.
  • Engaging in hands-on projects, balancing visionary strategy with detailed quick-turn edits and creative iterations.
  • Presenting to clients with confidence and authority.
  • Leading brainstorming and creative sessions to cultivate ideas.
  • Enhancing results by analyzing and re-evaluating processes, providing insights to the art, copy, and production teams.
  • Overseeing the quality and timely delivery of all work assigned to creative team members.
  • Guiding and inspiring art directors, illustrators, copywriters, and others to maximize their talents.
  • Mentoring creative team members to foster a positive and productive work culture.
  • Contributing to new business initiatives, including creative ideation, concept development, and pitching.

  • Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in an agency environment, with at least 5 years in the life sciences industry.
  • A demonstrated history of successful client partnerships and the ability to promote ambitious concepts.
  • A portfolio showcasing impactful digital, print, and interactive campaigns and activations.
  • Proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, etc.) and copy platforms (Microsoft Office, Adobe platforms, Google apps, etc.), as well as familiarity with AI tools.
  • Prior experience managing a creative team is required.
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience.
