Delivery Route Driver

Overview. We are looking for a part-time delivery driver that is available Tueday-Friday. Expected 24-32 hours per week. During peak-season (March-October) hours may be more. No CDL license required.

Overview: As a DELIVERY ROUTE DRIVER, you will be responsible for safely delivering, unloading, stocking and maintaining our beverage products in our customer accounts. Drivers can expect to pick up and deliver kegged and canned beer to accounts, collect payment, and build relationships with our retailers. Our delivery team is a close-knit group that always looks out for one another, the company, and the customers as a whole. They act as the backbone of our company, providing the highest quality customer service possible. Professional appearance, excellent time management, and outstanding customer service skills required. The Delivery Driver is the face of the brand, we need people who can make and maintain good, strong relationships with our accounts. We can train on beer knowledge and our approach to hospitality.

As a driver you are expected to travel to accounts in Wilmington, Carolina Beach, Southport, Pender and Brunswick County. Occasional there could be deliveries outside this area.

Job purpose: To deliver and pick up beer on assigned route to our retail accounts and help maintain clean tap lines. This position requires a person with excellent customer service and communications skills and is considered an integral part of our sales team.

Duties and responsibilities: Deliver kegs and cases of canned beer as scheduled throughout Southeast North Carolina (Wilmington, Carolina Beach, Brunswick County (incl. Southport), Pender County, etc.).

1. Ensure all sales, transactions, and deliveries comply with NC ABC regulations.

2. Work safely and comply with Waterline policies and processes to ensure proper material handling techniques and defensive driving; use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

3. Comply with all DOT driving regulations. Follow all policies and procedures associated with daily vehicle inspections, driving, substance abuse, and hours of service requirements.

4. Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account and with Waterline sales staff. Represent Waterline in a professional manner with excellent professional appearance and communication. Communicate timely and effectively with sales staff and management team to escalate any customer concerns or issues.

5. Rotate product in compliance with customer, supplier, and Waterline policy. Stock shelves, organize back stock and coolers.

6. Remove out of date and/or damaged product on a pre-approved management exception; remove all empty kegs and pallets.

7. Verify ticket and product information, obtain customer signature, and collect payment; secure cash and checks in safe and locked cab of truck to prevent theft.

8. Safely use line cleaning chemicals for basic draft line cleaning.

9. Responsible for daily, accurate settlement of route.

10. Responsible for the care and maintenance of company-assigned property, vehicle, and equipment.

11. Responsible for punctual attendance to ensure product is delivered timely to Waterline customers.

12. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED preferred Must be 21 or older
• Minimum of 1 year in service-oriented position preferred
• Must have a clean driving record and no criminal record to deliver alcohol.
• Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license
• Ability to lift up to 165lbs up to waist-level and fulfill all physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to sit, stand, push/pull, lift, be mobile, and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time.
• Driver is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
• Excellent communication skills for building positive relationships with customers.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team on a daily, time sensitive basis.
• Excellent Customer Service skills and dealing with customers face-to-face
• Knowledge of craft beer and desire to learn (and taste) more. Training provided!

• Experience with a hand truck/dolly type of equipment preferred

Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15 per hour 6-8 hour shifts 4 days a week

All delivery drivers must maintain a valid NC State Driver’s License, clean motor vehicle record, and consent to pre-employment inquiries and tests including criminal background and physical assessment (job simulation).
