Mission for the position : The Project Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring construction projects are completed with maximum efficiency. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage daily tasks effectively, adapt to changing project needs, and take the initiative to ask questions and problem-solve. The role includes a combination of office work, fieldwork, and minor tasks that contribute to the overall success of each project.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain daily logs, submittals, and project paperwork to keep jobs on schedule.
Track project schedules daily, monitoring changes in production and making adjustments as necessary.
Understand and allocate resources efficiently, dispatching crews and equipment accordingly.
Lead by example and communicate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to achieve goals on time.
Track project quantities and costs, generating weekly cost-to-revenue reports.
Coordinate with the Department of Transportation (DOT) or project owner to ensure accurate documentation and payment.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Proficiency in Bluebeam or other project management software.
Experience with HCSS HeavyJob or similar project tracking tools.
Strong knowledge of CT DOT specifications.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
General understanding of project scheduling and resource management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
12 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
