Location : Hartford, CT (travel to jobsites throughout Connecticut)

Job Summary : We are seeking a self-motivated and proactive Safety Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the implementation of safety programs, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and foster a culture of safety across all sites.

What Youll Do :

• Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments on a wide array of construction projects across the Heavy Civil and Paving Divisions of the company.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures.
• Facilitate any necessary training sessions, toolbox talks, and first aid training for employees.
• Help to monitor and log tool box talks and weekly inspection sheets. submitted by superintendents and foremen.
• Investigate incidents, prepare report, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with site teams to promote safety awareness and adherence to protocols.
• Monitor and maintain safety equipment, ensuring readiness at all times.
• Fill out accident report investigations as needed and insure timely submission of all information to insurer.
• Maintain professional working relationships with employees and subcontractors.
• Keeps the safety of Waters employees as the #1 priority.
