What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern position at Waters Edge Family?
With a passion for Christ Jesus and compassion for people, Interns in Central Students serve Central Wesleyan Church by partnering and serving with staff, fellow leaders, and parents so students can experience the love of Christ in a real and vibrant way. You will be working side by side with the Central Student team who are responsible for all aspects of student ministry while incorporating Central’s core values of evangelism, discipleship, worship, expectant prayer, faithful witness, helpful service, and care for students and families.
Responsibilities:
● Be part of preparing and leading the weekly ministry program(s).
● Be part of preparing and leading ministry camps and events. Ask the supervisor for dates.
● Communicate regularly with students and their parents.
● Disciple students weekly, on and away from Central’s campus.
● Help develop, evaluate and lead appropriate curriculum for students.
● Welcome new students to Central Students and CWC as a whole.
● Maintain presence on students turf, ie: sporting and extracurricular events, etc.
Expectations:
● Lead youth in their spiritual formation.
● Meet with and listen to hurting teens and families where needed in order to point them to Jesus through Scripture and prayer.
● Attend Central Student Team meetings and prayer times.
● Help plan trips, retreats and events seasonally, according to the Christ-centered model for youth ministry at Central Wesleyan Church Student Ministries (5000, 120, 12, 3).
● Listen well, plan and organize with purpose, and meet timelines.
● Adhere to values of Central Wesleyan Church: Evangelism, Intentional discipleship, Innovation, Authenticity, Inclusion, and Missions/Outreach.
● Support Kingdom building efforts and Central with prayers, presence, service and witness.
● Exercise good judgment and discern sensitive and confidential information.
● Work independently and openly with some supervision.
● Participate in and attend church worship services and activities.
● Attend “All-Staff” meetings and prayer times as deemed necessary by supervisor.
