Location: Holland, Michigan, United States

Time: Part-Time, hourly (approximately 15-17 hours/week)   

Reports to:  Executive Pastor  

Primary work relationships: Executive Pastor, Lead Pastor 

Secondary work relationships: Worship and AVL Teams

NORTHSIDE church is a church plant in Holland, MI desiring for everyone on the Northside of Holland to see in our lives the worth and love of Jesus.  Our mission is to see and love Jesus, together.  God has revealed the glory of His saving grace in His Son, Jesus.  The gospel compels us to surrender more and more to Jesus and to seek first the glory of God and His kingdom.  This motivates all we do, teach, and pursue as a local church.  NORTHSIDE is a Waters Edge Network church and also partners with the SEND Network.  

Job Summary:

NORTHSIDE Church is seeking a passionate, skilled, and theologically grounded Worship Pastor to lead our worship ministry. This is a Pastoral role that works to lead our teams and congregation to understand and engage with God through worship.  This person would desire to build and grow a love for God in the life of His people. This individual will work collaboratively with the pastoral staff and worship team volunteers to create a vibrant, varied, and spiritually enriching worship experience that aligns with the church's vision and values.  Currently, the position would be part-time with the desire for the right candidate to move full-time as soon and possible.  

Responsibilities:

• Vision & Leadership:
  • Develop and articulate a clear vision for the worship ministry that aligns with the overall mission and vision of NORTHSIDE.
  • Provide pastoral, spiritual leadership and discipleship to the worship team volunteers.
  • Recruit, train, and equip volunteers for all aspects of the worship ministry, including musicians, vocalists, technicians, media operators, and stage design.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Worship Planning & Execution:
  • Plan and curate weekly worship services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor, ensuring thematic coherence with the sermon and liturgical calendar.
  • Select songs, hymns, and other musical elements that are theologically sound, culturally relevant, and appropriate for the congregation.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of worship services, including sound, lighting, and visual media, ensuring a high-quality and distraction-free environment.
• Musical Direction:
  • Lead and direct rehearsals for musicians and vocalists.
  • Develop and maintain musical excellence within the worship team.
  • Arrange and adapt music as needed.
  • Possess strong vocal and instrumental skills 
• Administration & Communication:
  • Manage the worship ministry budget effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and the congregation regarding worship plans and needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of music, equipment, and volunteer schedules.
  • Stay current with trends in contemporary worship while remaining grounded in theological principles.
• Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Lead Pastor and other pastoral staff to integrate worship into the broader life of the church.
  • Collaborate with other ministry leaders on joint events and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, Worship Leadership, or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading worship in a church setting.
• Strong musical skills (vocal and instrumental proficiency).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to recruit, train, and motivate volunteers.
• Proficiency in using worship software and technology
• A deep understanding of Christian theology and a commitment to leading worship that honors God and edifies the church.
• A vibrant and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ.
• Alignment with the theological beliefs and distinctives of NORTHSIDE.

Salary : $18 - $25
