Job Summary
The SVP, Development is responsible for establishing the investment strategy for multi-family developments within Waterton's established fund vehicles as well as development opportunities outside of such vehicles. The role is also responsible for originating and sourcing various multi-family debt investments, leveraging development expertise to find new brokers and borrowers, structure investments, and underwrite and close on new loans.
The role will be a leader within the company and the Investment Management Team focused on finding ways for the company to grow revenues through development acquisitions, debt investments, and new business development.
Your Impact and Job Responsibilities :
- Originates and structures joint ventures with top tier developers within the company's targeted markets.
- Works closely with Waterton's Acquisition, Construction Management and Research teams to underwrite development opportunities and oversee the due diligence.
- Originates multifamily debt investments, including senior loans, mezz and preferred equity through a network of new and existing owners, brokers and servicers.
- Negotiates, originates and documents new investments through closing.
- Responsible for due diligence including legal, accounting, engineering and financial.
- Responsible for financial models, projections and market condition analysis on prospective development and debt investments for the Investment Committee.
- Presents development and debt opportunities to the Investment Management Team / CIO and Investment Committee
- Reviews appraisals, valuations and cash flow projections.
- Assesses progress with development and performance of properties.
- Designs and implements multi-family residential acquisition and disposition strategies to meet investment objectives.
- Cultivate strong relationships with external brokers to gain access to off-market transactions as they become available.

The typical base salary hiring range for this role is $200,000.00-$290,000.00 per year, plus bonus program participation.
The pay range is a base pay only and does not include any additional compensation or bonuses that this position may be eligible for. The pay range is approximate and the actual pay may vary depending on related work experience, certifications, education, and other job related factors.
