Position : Digital Learning / IT TechnicianPosition Type : Full-TimeLocation : DistrictReports to : K - 12 Digital Learning & Libraries CoordinatorAffiliation : Non-alignedSalary Range : $50,000 - $55,000SUMMARY : We are a diverse community with ~2,600 students enrolled in Watertown Public Schools (preschool through grade 12) in three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The Digital Learning / IT Technician(s) provides school-based support by assisting administrators, educators, students, and the Watertown Public Schools community with the use and integration of technology throughout the district. The Digital Learning / IT position reports to the Digital Learning and Libraries Coordinator and collaborates with principals, information technology (IT) staff the Grade 6-12 Digital Learning Support Specialist, and in the use of district technology devices and online resources.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The essential functions or duties listed below are illustrative of the type of work that is performed and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed by the person in this position. Other duties may be assigned.The primary responsibilities of the position are :

  • Support all staff in the use of educational technology resources on a daily basis
  • Participate in the development and delivery of technology training (i.e. Google suite, PowerSchool, devices, and educational apps) under the tutelage of the Digital Learning & Libraries Coordinator
  • Manage and support the inventory, deployment, and collection of equipment and devices at assigned school(s) under the direction of the principal and IT Manager
  • Assist staff during computer-based testing including i-Ready, MCAS, and ACCESS
  • Support the Maker Space program : train staff and students in the use of the equipment, organize area, maintain equipment, inventory supplies and related tasks
  • Model ethical behavior, skills proficiency, and responsible use of online and educational technology resources
  • Troubleshoot school-based hardware and software problems and escalate issues to appropriate IT personnel
  • Work with IT and Digital Learning / Library staff to respond to tickets submitted through the help desk
  • Maintain and advance the knowledge of digital learning resources and educational technologies to support teaching and learning

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
