Hours: 4 hours of registration, 8 hours of in-person monitoring and support (8AM-12PM two days per week) for six weeks at Watertown High School, additional time (up to 18 hours) for student outreach and communication as needed (anticipated total of 70 hours, not to exceed 70 hours)
General Description:
Watertown High School will be offering course recovery through an online provider this summer. The Accountability Coach will be the high school’s main contact for the online program and will monitor student progress in-person and remotely as needed. The Accountability Coach will also support students in accessing the online provider’s tech support services.
Responsibilities:
- Outreach to students who qualify to promote Academic Summer School Program
- Coordinating registration of Summer School students and enrollment in online courses
- Monitoring student progress in consultation with the online course provider and communicating with families
- Providing 8 hours (4 hours, 2 days a week) of in-person support and supervision at Watertown High School, included in the 70-hour maximum above
- Compiling data and reports for the program upon completion
- Sending final grades/credits/performance results to the guidance office and principal
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A current Massachusetts Secondary Teaching License/Certification
- Experience working with high school students
- Familiarity with online learning platforms such as Edgenuity
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience building relationships with students and families to hold students accountable
Preferred:
- One or more years of experience working with high school credit recovery programs preferred
