The Watertown Shamrocks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are looking to add an in-arena host and on-air talent personality to our team for the 2025-26 season. The right candidate will be looking to develop their on-camera talents while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
As the in-arena host, you will be the face of the Shamrocks during home games, responsible for engaging fans, facilitating entertainment segments, and promoting team spirit. This role requires a charismatic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can connect with diverse audiences.
The ideal candidate will be either currently enrolled in or recently graduated from college studying a related field. The student may or may not choose to seek college credit for this internship, the Shamrocks will work with the student's school to ensure the internship works within their requirements for credit if so desired.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the primary host for all home games, engaging with fans on the arena mic.
· Conduct interviews with players, coaches, and special guests during games.
· Organize and host interactive games and contests for fans during breaks in play.
· Promote team merchandise and upcoming events through engaging announcements.
· Collaborate with the production team to create entertaining segments and game-day experiences.
· Attend team events and community outreach programs to represent the Shamrocks.
· Maintain a positive and energetic atmosphere throughout each game.
· Be an on-camera personality for other produced media throughout the week.
· Role can be blended along with one of our digital media internship opportunity.
· All other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Familiarity with operating a Tri-Caster and/or Daktronics video board is a plus but is not required. We can teach you!
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
· Ability to adapt and react on the fly during a live-sporting event.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, if required.

The Shamrocks will work with the intern to develop their skills with industry-standard equipment. Our production team is collaborative in nature and the intern will be given the opportunity to seek the projects that will help them achieve their ultimate career goals. Interns should expect to be treated as valued members of the team and encouraged to share opinions and ideas openly. Our goal is to help our interns develop real skills, not send them on coffee runs.
