Job Summary
The Watertown Urban Mission, (WUM), is seeking a Housing Director to develop and oversee WUM's grant funded Housing Programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of, poverty, substance abuse, behavioral health and crisis intervention. This role requires a strategic thinker who can effectively negotiate and manage relationships with various stakeholders while providing advocacy to individuals in need of stable housing.
Duties
- Oversee daily Housing Program operations as well as supervise Housing Case Managers.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead crisis intervention efforts, providing support and guidance to staff in high-stress situations.
- Collaborate with community organizations to promote social services that benefit clients.
-Work and collaborate with WUM Senior Team and Executive Director to promote collaboration and teamwork agency wide.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of homelessness, Fair Housing and habitability of dwellings/apartments.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in crisis intervention and management, with a focus on providing support during challenging situations.
- Background in social work or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to employ motivational interviewing techniques effectively to engage clients positively.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate teams toward common goals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
