Job Description:
The CSM TechnicianAssembler is responsible for fabricating and assembling various components and sub-assemblies to close tolerances and strict requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform diversified assembly and erection operations to assemble for all types of water pumping stations, enclosures, and component sub-assemblies or equipment to close tolerances and strict inspection requirements.
- Perform fabrication, cutting, grinding, sanding, and bonding of FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics) components.
- Perform sandblasting and paint prep operations for various metallic and non-metallic components.
- Perform welding of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) plastic by hand and with a Hydraulic Fusion machine to required specifications.
- Processing of parts on a 3-axis CNC. This would include basic setup, machine start-stop, and removal of parts from machine along with clean up and deburring of cut parts.
- Perform processing of parts or components utilizing band saw, table saw, or drill press.
- Perform assembly or component modification with the use of various hand tools.
- Use a variety of precision measuring instruments and gauging devices.
- Cut, form, and connect wiring in accordance with specifications utilizing available space for best workmanship and results.
- Work from complicated assembly drawings and specifications complete all work or job-related documents and measurements.
- Provide input on product and process improvements, as well as corrections to drawings, specifications, or bill of materials.
- Experience or the ability to be trained on Forklift and Crane operation to complete daily tasks.
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily to close tolerances and strict inspection. The employee must be self-motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision.
Qualifications:
- Requires 1-3 years of manufacturing experience
- Required education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma
- Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings
- Requires good oral and written communication skills in the English language to interact with and provide work direction to other employees
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally up to 70 pounds. While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee will frequently stand or walk, occasionally talk and listen, and move from place to place. He/she will frequently use hands to finger, handle, or touch, along with occasional kneeling and crouching or work from a ladder to complete various functions.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics for this position are in an industrial setting where all policies regarding safety have to be followed. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) such as Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes, and proper safety attire related to the job performed are required to be worn at all times while working on the plant floor. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee must be able to be medically cleared to wear a respirator. (This testing and equipment will be supplied by Watertronics.) The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
