Job Description:
- Provide professional supervision, guidance and direction to staff in both clinical and personnel issues on the Long-Term or Short Term Unit.
- Coordinate resident care in accordance with State DOH regulations.
- Support residents and their families in dealing with clinical issues and challenges.
- Ensure staff adheres to safety and infection control guidelines.
- Assist in establishing daily operations of resident care on unit.
- Communicate with other members of the Interdisciplinary Team pertinent information to assure resident/family needs are met.
- Perform daily rounds of all residents on the unit.
- Perform assessments on residents as required by the facility - Admission, Elopement, Pain, etc.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or three (3) years experience in long term care.
- Minimum three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity either in a hospital, long term care facility, or other related medical facility, training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practice.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of medical, social, and psychological needs of residents.
- Must possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm in order to create an atmosphere conducive to rehabilitation and growth.
- Must be able to communicate well verbally with residents, families and staff.
- Must have computer literacy.
