ABOUT US
Waterway is the largest fire equipment testing company in the United States. We work with local fire departments across Long Island to test their equipment (primarily fire hose, ground ladders, and pumps) to ensure they meet all performance and safety requirements.
Waterway has been growing every year. Last year, we increased our business by over 30% and this year we are striving to continue growing our team and abilities to ensure we can meet all our customers’ needs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Safety Technician works as a part of a cohesive team with 8-12 members. The team travels locally each day to local fire departments to test their equipment on-site.
At Waterway, you will have the opportunity to learn from the best. You will learn on the job how to test firehoses, ladders, hard suction, nozzles, and appliances. You can take on different levels of responsibility – crew member, water pump operator, driver, operations leader, or even crew leader. We have multiple positions available.
Employees generally arrange their own transportation to the job site, although carpooling with other team members is common and there is some limited space available in the company truck.
