Located in the charming village of Watkins Glen, our hotel offers guests a premium vantage point to experience the region’s renowned wine trails, craft breweries, distilleries, historic sites, outdoor recreation, and waterfront adventures.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This role is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s public and guest areas in a clean and orderly manner. The position also supports both the Housekeeping and Front Office teams by responding to guest requests and assisting with the delivery of supplies, linens, and special items.
REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The following list outlines key responsibilities; additional duties may be assigned as needed:
- Stock linen closets and guest rooms with amenities and supplies to support Room Attendants. Assist with transporting heavy deliveries from vendors.
- Promptly and efficiently fulfill guest requests for housekeeping items while providing friendly, courteous service.
- Assist with furniture rearrangement, prepare sample rooms for sales tours, and support special housekeeping setups as required.
- Collect soiled linens and transport them to the laundry room or designated area.
- Participate in housekeeping programs, including mattress rotations, duvet maintenance, deep cleans, and scheduled room inspections.
- Clean assigned areas including guest rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other common spaces. Duties may include sweeping, waxing, and polishing floors.
- Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills. Immediately report any damages, safety hazards, missing items, or maintenance issues to management.
- Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays, clean debris from driveways and parking lots, and transport trash to proper disposal locations.
- Deliver items such as televisions, ironing boards, cribs, and rollaway beds to guestrooms upon request.
- Respond to guest concerns and requests with a positive, solution-oriented attitude, aiming to exceed guest expectations through friendly and timely service.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including Lobby Attendant, Turndown Attendant, or Laundry Attendant responsibilities.
- Follow all safety protocols, including wearing protective equipment and adhering to OSHA standards and hotel procedures.
- Promptly turn in all lost and found items to Housekeeping management.
- Maintain regular attendance and arrive in full uniform with nametag. Be knowledgeable about hotel amenities and services to assist guests effectively.
