What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estate Planning Attorney position at Watkinson Laird Rubenstein, P.C.?
Essential Responsibilities: Estate planning and administration attorneys will:
- Provide ethical, practical, creative, efficient and responsive client service
- Represent clients through all stages of estate planning and administration, including counseling clients regarding strategies to distribute their assets according to their wishes, while ensuring compliance with state and federal estate and tax laws, drafting wills, trusts, and related documents, and filing and managing probate and trust administration proceedings
- Provide support to other practice groups as needed, including transactional work and probate/trust litigation
- Serve as an engaged member of our firm and our community
- Work respectfully with and delegate appropriately to the firm’s professional staff to maximize value for the client
- Keep clients informed and supported through all stages of representation
- Operate with accountability, integrity, and humility
- Practice inclusivity and behave respectfully toward all people
- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional development and self-care
Minimum Qualifications: Successful candidates will:
- Be a current member in good standing of the Oregon State Bar
- Have at least 5 years of estate planning and administration experience, including autonomous management of client matters
- Possess excellent legal research, writing, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
- Work well both independently and collaboratively
- Contribute to a positive work environment
- Be prepared to responsibly manage a full client load with mentorship and support as appropriate to level of experience
- Desire to live near one of our office locations upon hire and to integrate into the local professional community
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to sit for long periods of time, and to operate office equipment (computer, phone, multi-function copier/printer) for 8 or more hours per day. This work environment consists of professional office conditions with a moderate noise level. Some regional travel is required.

Pay: $92,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
