About the Role
The Technology and Development Manager, Global Trade Compliance (GTC) at Watlow will lead and optimize our global trade compliance (GTC) function. This high-impact leadership role focuses on enhancing trade compliance knowledge across our global teams, streamlining processes, and implementing system-based solutions to drive efficiency.
In this role, you will manage cross-border projects, lead system integrations, and serve as the subject matter expert for trade management platforms. You will be responsible for developing and delivering global trade compliance training, ensuring policy adherence, and driving continuous improvement in compliance processes. Strong project management, analytical thinking, and communication skills are essential, as you will influence and collaborate with leaders across various functions.
Your Key Responsibilities
- System Implementation & Integration : Lead the implementation and optimization of trade compliance systems, including OCR trade management software.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Serve as the GTC functional representative in critical international and enterprise-wide projects.
- Training & Development : Design and execute global trade compliance training programs for employees at all levels.
- Trade Classification & Compliance : Establish standardized import / export classification processes and develop decision-making tools.
- Technology & Process Optimization : Identify and implement AI, chatbots, and automated workflows to enhance efficiency.
- Regulatory Monitoring & Compliance : Track global trade regulation changes and ensure company-wide adherence.
- Data Integrity & Management : Drive master data enhancement projects and ensure accurate compliance recordkeeping.
- Policy Development & Enforcement : Oversee global trade compliance policies, from creation to company-wide deployment.
- Audits & Continuous Improvement : Lead self-assessments, audits, and corrective actions to strengthen compliance efforts.
- Stakeholder Communication : Provide strategic communication and expert presentations to business leaders on trade compliance matters.
