Job Summary
The Commercial Sales Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial projects, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with various departments to ensure competitive and profitable pricing. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Essential Duties / Accountabilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other related expenses.
- Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals in response to RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and RFQs (Requests for Quotations).
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Work closely with sales, project management, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements.
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project profitability and success.
- Communicate with clients to clarify project details, address concerns, and provide updates on the estimation process.
- Stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitor activities to maintain competitive advantage.
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project documentation for future reference and analysis.
- Other duties as assigned.
