Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to join our junior high/high school faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ASL and Deaf culture, excellent teaching skills, and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for students of varying skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and national ASL curriculum standards.
- Teach ASL grammar, vocabulary, fingerspelling, and cultural aspects of Deaf communities.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, including visual, interactive, and hands-on activities, to enhance student learning.
- Assess student progress through quizzes, exams, projects, and class participation.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that promotes cultural awareness and appreciation of Deaf culture.
- Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student success.
