The Watson Chapel Board of Education announces openings for a Foreign Language Teacher
Start Date: August, 2025 Work Schedule: 190 Day

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Foreign teaching License, Subject Specific Endorsement or enrolled in Alternative Program leading to license for this position issued by Department of Secondary and Elementary Education.
Must satisfactorily complete Bureau of Criminal Investigation background check.
Desired:
Ability to provide instruction to students through explanation, demonstration and/or supervised practice.
Ability to supervise students and maintain order in various classroom and instructional activities and situations.
Ability to operate general office equipment in the performance of daily activities.
Ability to prepare lesson plans, tests, and instructional materials for classroom activities.
Ability to identify student adjustment and/or academic problems, provide counseling and/or recommend appropriate remedial action to parents.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents, District staff, and all other groups involved in the activities of the job.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Teaches skills and knowledge in foreign language instruction to secondary pupils, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities. Modern foreign language teachers (French, German, Spanish) teach aural comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing
Facilitates a challenging academic environment
Maintains an organization plan for each assigned course (subject matter outline, daily lesson plans, etc.)
As a minimum, remains faithful to the course outline as indicated in the curriculum guide and enriches curriculum whenever possible
Commits to expertise and growth in discipline content and methodology
Uses technology to enhance student learning and achievement
Completing grading within cycle of assignment, updating homework and test results online in a timely manner
Independently pursues professional growth Professional Responsibilities and Duties
Executes all duties in a timely manner (starts class on time, meets deadlines, attends meetings, turns in paperwork on time, etc.)
Seeks opportunities to promote a collegial, educational environment throughout the campus
Maintains communication with parents and responds within 24 hours
Sustains cordial, professional relationships with all students, staff, parents, and community members
Attends meetings and sits on committees as directed by administration
Is a team player and willingly collaborates
Communicate with parents as needed
Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by state or federal law, District policies, and administrative regulations.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students and to properly care for all property, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies.
Is punctual and responsible in performing all duties and activities as assigned.
Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life, conduct and behavior in a fair and just manner.
