Job Description
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and workforce to resolve project challenges and conflicts while ensuring safety remains a priority
- Scheduling for profitable project completion including preparing global project schedules, weekly look ahead schedules, and tracking progress for appropriate completion of projects.
- Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Collaborates and attends meetings with management, engineering personnel, inspectors, clients, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Following QA/QC protocol by inspecting work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules.
- Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated.
- Manage critical document control to include submittal schedules, contract documents, project record drawings, etc.
- Comply with crucial notice requirements such as inspections, survey staking, joint measurements with owner and/or engineer, utility locations and adjustments, testing, claims, etc.
- Obtain pricing from subcontractors and vendors to include change orders
- Assist with quantity reporting, project costs and forecasting
- Prepare and maintain technical submittal list, NPDES permits, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Project Progress Schedule as required
- Help coordinate all schedule preparations and updates
- Assist with monthly billing, cash flow projections, and change order processing
- Review foreman daily reports for accuracy
- Assist Project Manager and Project Superintendent as required
- Issue time sensitive correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plan and/or specifications affects products or services
- Contribute to project closeout to ensure punch list is complete and client satisfaction is met
- Requisition of equipment and material delivery verifications as required
- Perform additional assignments per the Project Manager's direction
Qualifications
Must be highly motivated to work in the construction field. We want leaders with strong communication skills ready to work hard and contribute to the success of the company.
- A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering is required.
- Previous experience on FDOT projects.
- Knowledgeable of all aspects of construction including underground utilities, grading, earthwork, roadwork, engineering plans, project planning, subcontractors, and procurement.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Knowledge of construction methods, inspections, and tests.
- OSHA certified competent person.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
