Summary: The Watson Electrical Construction Company (WECC) Apprenticeship Program is a standardized, performance-based, electrical training program accredited through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and operating under the Standards of Apprenticeship registered in the states of VA, NC and SC. The program is 4-years in duration and consists of over 620 hours of formal classroom instruction and 8,000 hours of paid on the job training under the direct supervision of qualified Electrical Mechanics on construction sites. Our program is also registered with the Department of Veterans Affairs, enabling veterans of the armed forces to utilize their VA benefits while enrolled. All WECC apprentices are full time employees with benefits available after 90-days of employment.

- Arrive daily with appropriate attire and tools
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Work from ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms
- Identify electrical parts and components
- Dig trenches and backfill as needed
- Keep up with changing technology
- Stay current with and adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Wear tools at all required times
- Perform assigned tasks under their direct supervision of an Electrical Mechanic
- Track apprenticeship program paperwork including OJT hours and reviews
- Adhere to the WECC apprenticeship program curriculum consisting of Homework and assigned Tests and Quizzes.
- Handle material required for the job
- Install raceways, pull wire, and mount equipment
- Assemble and install small to large electrical parts and pieces
- Trim outlets, recessed cans and other repetitive finish work
- Use electrical formulas to figure out pipe fill, device and panel size, and disconnect
- Read and understand basic blueprints
- Minimum Age of 18
- High School Diploma/GED
- Current Driver License
