Role Summary
The Team Leader is responsible for leading a segment of the production team within our assembly organization, ensuring that safety, quality, and delivery targets are met. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a passion for maintaining high standards in all areas of production.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership: Champion a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety walks, and promoting a culture of safety engagement among team members.
Quality Management: Oversee processes to ensure all products meet or exceed company and industry quality standards. Implement quality improvement initiatives and address any quality-related issues promptly with support of the quality team.
Production Delivery: Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of production goals by planning and coordinating team activities, managing resources, and addressing any obstacles that may impact productivity.
Self Directed Teams: Coach and develop the team members to support our self directed team approach culture by leading the team through their daily meetings, supporting and developing the team members within the process, and promoting goal attainment.
Continuous Improvement: Work closely with the CI Lead to promote a continuous improvement culture within the team by facilitating improvement ideas and participating and leading kaizen events.
Data Capture: Ensure all required data is captured for the cell, including Day by Hour, Production Output Tracking, and Non-conforming Material Reporting.
Training: Perform and sign off on-the-job training for colleagues within the cell.
Documentation: Ensure all cell documentation is completed as required, including Job Setup Checklist and Line Clearance.
Audits and Problem Solving: Conduct 5S audits, SDT metrics, and problem-solving within the cell. Assist support teams during the escalation process for production issues.
Time and Attendance Tracking: Responsible for tracking and managing team members' time and attendance.
Coaching and Development: Coach and develop Assemblers, with the support of the Value Stream Manager.

Motivate and lead cell colleagues to achieve required results while maintaining company values
This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role
Proven manufacturing experience particularly in assembly operations, preferably greater than 5 years.
Prior leadership experience leading and developing team members
Excellent understanding of safety and quality standards
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Strong communication and organizational skills
