We are seeking a Retail Store Manager for our Beautiful Garden Center located in Puyallup, WA.

The Retail Store Manager plays a key role in upholding Watson's core values of family, passion, and quality by overseeing the operations and efficiency of our Puyallup retail store. This position leads our retail team with a family-oriented approach, providing the guidance and training needed to foster a passionate commitment to exceptional service. The Retail Store Manager works closely with Leadership to ensure the store’s aesthetic and ambiance reflect our high standards of quality, making thoughtful adjustments based on sales data, seasonal trends, and inventory.

This full-time position reports to Watson’s Retail General Manager.

Primary Responsibilities Include

• Active presence on the floor, leading by example with a positive, supportive attitude.
• Approves overall schedule of all retail employees, including ensuring store is opened and closed according to policy.
• Works closely with Visual Merchandise Manager and Buying Team to implement store transitions.
• Manage Team Supervisors who manage the sales and operations of the store. Overall store staffing runs at approximately 50 employees.
• Assist in employee recruiting, training and development.
• Inspire and encourage employees to ensure a high level of morale.
• Assist customers and troubleshoot customer service issues when necessary.

Requirements Include

• Work experience in retail management, Greenhouse Experience .
• 10 years of experience in retail operations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong strategic leadership skills to hire, mentor, and develop a well-rounded team primed to provide consistent, exceptional customer experiences.
• Experience managing a dynamic retail environment utilizing key metrics to drive sales goals and maintain a healthy live inventory managed to optimal inventory turn targets.
• Experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) / Book: Traction a plus.
• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 50lbs, and push/pull racks on wheels of 100lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand, climb, squat, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Pay: $78,000 - $85,000 per year bonus opportunity

• Merchandising: 3 years (Required)

• Garden Center / Horticultural background preferred
