Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious CDL Driver and Equipment Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles and heavy equipment to transport materials, operate machinery, and perform general duties on construction, transportation, or industrial projects. This position requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and experience in safely operating various types of heavy equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
CDL Driver:
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport materials to and from job sites, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while driving.
- Maintain accurate records of hours, delivery logs, and maintenance schedules.
- Load and unload materials as necessary, following all safety protocols.
- Communicate with dispatch or supervisors to ensure efficient transportation schedules.
Equipment Operator:
- Operate various heavy equipment such as track loaders, mini excavators, and skid steers
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Follow all safety guidelines and site-specific protocols while operating equipment.
- Assist with site preparation, material handling, and grading operations as needed.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure proper coordination of work tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Valid CDL (Class A) and a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, skid steer, loaders).
- Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to work in various outdoor environments and weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in construction, roadwork, or industrial operations.
- Certification or training in heavy equipment operation (e.g., OSHA, NCCCO).
