Location : Greater Philadelphia area (some remote capacity)
Some remote capacity with occasional site / office visits
Salary : to $180K plus bonus (doe)

Position Overview : Our client is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to join their team, providing top-tier design and consulting services. The goal is to deliver innovative, resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy infrastructure solutions for their clients. This role involves designing mechanical systems for power generation, central utility plants, and combined heat and power. It includes mechanical design engineering tasks such as equipment specification, selection, and 3D design. The engineer will serve as Engineer of Record as needed and support the Project Manager in various tasks.
Responsibilities :
Develop mechanical engineering design, analysis, and calculations for assigned projects.
Create accurate 2D / 3D models for equipment systems.
Specify and select mechanical equipment for power generation, including industrial frame combustion turbines, internal combustion engines, chiller systems, boilers and heat recovery, cooling systems, pumping systems, piping, and valves.
Review projects to ensure compliance with departmental standards, client requirements, and project budgets.
Design, layout, and check mechanical drawings to ensure technical accuracy according to relevant codes.
Conduct site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide field construction support as needed.
Requirements :
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering, including design of mechanical systems such as chilled water systems, heat recovery, industrial turbines, internal combustion engines, pumping systems, and cooling systems.
Familiarity with mechanical engineering codes : ASME VIII, ASME B31.1, and NFPA.
Understanding of power plant processes, operations, and economics.
Knowledge of construction requirements and piping.
Proficiency in local, state, and national code requirements.
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, with Revit experience being a plus.
Effective time management skills and comfort with frequent deadlines.
Ability to work effectively with other staff in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills for conveying complex ideas, strong technical writing and documentation skills for preparing presentations and reports.
Proficiency in English.
Education and Experience :
BS in Mechanical Engineering.
5 plus years of professional experience in mechanical engineering for power generation, central utility plants, and combined heat and power.
Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
PE licensure preferred.
