The Company, based in Monmouth County, NJ is a successful community management company with a solid 100 year history of success. The successful candidate for this position will have 0-4 years experience with general accounting. This experience should include maintaining and understanding all aspects of the financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, performing bank statement reconciliations, and reviewing the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement for accuracy.

- Prepare financial statement, including current monthly, quarterly and year to date variances including creating and posting entries, general ledger review and completion of back-up schedules.
- Accurately record income, expenses and changes in assets and liabilities on a monthly basis including amortization / depreciation schedules.
- Assist on site managers in monthly and quarterly processes.
- Monitoring of cash flow for each property and cost control / expanses to achieve budgeted NOI
- Prepare year-end work paper packages for audits and tax returns to be provided to outside CPAs.
- Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in-line with the overall goals of the organization.
- Prepare various accounting analysis and internal audits as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree with 0 to 4 year’s corporate accounting and finance experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPA with prior public accounting experience is helpful.
- Multi-property or community experience is helpful.
- Knowledge with Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of management
- Ability to develop positive cross-functional working relationships
- Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and work simultaneously on several projects
- Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex business / financial data and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must be a team player, some overtime during month end close.
