Summary of Position
Reporting to the Assistant Controller (“AC”), the Accounting Clerk (“AC”) performs basic bookkeeping functions and clerical tasks for over 20 separate entities. Responsibilities include work to be performed for (i) the Company and (ii) certain affiliated entities for which the Company provides accounting services.
Position-Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Position-specific responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Accounting Email. Monitors the Accounting Email box to ensure emails are addressed completely, accurately, and timely. Reviews email daily to identify, classify, address, and follow-up on accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, financial reporting, and close activity.
- Account Payable (“AP”). Completes all AP processes to include verifying new vendors,maintaining the vendor master file, addressing vendor questions/requests, obtaining invoice approvals, recording invoices to the accounting system with the appropriate GL accounts, and preparing the weekly AP pay run.
- Accounts Receivable (“AR”). Completes all AR processes including the addition of new customers, issuance of monthly invoices, email of invoices to customers, posting of customer payments, recurring reporting of open AR balances, and follow-up on outstanding AR.
- Banking and Credit Transactions. Assists Assistant Controller to record all bank and credit card transactions to the appropriate GL accounts, regularly reconciling transactions per the bank and credit card statement with transactions per the company ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
- Special Projects. Completes reports and special projects (e.g. annual distribution of 1099s) assigned by the Assistant Controller.

Work Environment
This job operates primarily in an office setting. Occasional remote and flexible work is possible with advanced supervisor approval.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Typical days and hours of work will be Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The employee must be able to work a variety of hours to accommodate events or deadlines.
Education and Experience
The below education and experience requirements are necessary for the position.
Education
- Associates degree with an Accounting focus.
Experience
- 2 years of experience in an accounting-related role.
- 2 years working with Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- 2 years working for/with a company that has multiple affiliated entities and/or subsidiaries.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
