Watts Electric Company is a Civil Electrical Contractor with shops in Waverly, Omaha and North Platte Nebraska. We work in the utility & transportation industries, specifically Electrical Substations & Transmission Line, Overhead & Underground Construction, Heavy Highway & Rail Road Projects in the mid-west, from Texas to Minnesota. Pay Rage - $80k - $130k - based on qualifications and previous experience.
Location – Omaha Nebraska Facility
Responsibilities – Maintenance & repair of Company fleet, including Heavy Trucks, Heavy Equipment and Fleet Vehicles at our Waverly Facility.
Essential Job Functions
· Perform diagnostics on engines of multiple manufacturers.
· Perform electrical system diagnostics on vehicles & equipment.
· Evaluate hydraulic power & control systems.
· Perform regular vehicle maintenance inspections.
· Prepare detailed repair reports, review with manager and offer recommendations.
· Prepare parts list for ordering.
· Perform repairs safely using proper tools and equipment.
· Perform drive tests and systems tests to confirm units are in compliance.
· Provide equipment manager with repair reports & update maintenance records.
· Maintain cleanliness and neatness of shop area.
· Cooperate and collaborate with fellow mechanics.
· Provide training to subordinates.
· Ability to learn multiple types & classes of equipment.
· Willing to work in the field as necessary.
· Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Education
· 5 years min. verifiable experience as a diesel mechanic/technician.
· A Class A CDL license or willing & able to obtain their CDL within 6 months of hire.
· Watts offers CDL training & testing for our employees.
· Must have a clean driving record, (no DWI or major violations in the last two years).
· Must have dependable transportation to and from the workplace.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Lifting - Employee will be required to lift 35 lbs. frequently, and 100 lbs. occasionally.
Working Positions - While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, reach, and use hands & fingers.
Vision – Employee must have acceptable vision and meet DOT vision requirements for obtaining a CDL license.
Employees are required to wear protective safety gear, over the ankle lace up boots with reinforced toes, eye protection & ear protection when working in the shop. In addition, full PPE including hard hats and reflective vests are required when working on Company Jobsites. Employees who require eyewear with corrective lenses must provide eyewear with safety lenses and side shields.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and may be required to work in cold, hot, or humid conditions. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, chemicals or adverse conditions may be encountered. The Company will provide necessary PPE when these conditions exist.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Job Location - This position is located in Omaha, Nebraska. Normal work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday with a minimum 30 minute lunch break. Saturdays are not required.
