HIGH SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
The Wattsburg Area School District is looking for a Special Education Teacher anticipated March 2025.
Shift : Full time, regular school schedule
Salary Range : Minimum of $44,325 based on degree(s), prorated.
Benefits : Full employer paid medical while employed.
Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated educator to teach Emotional Support. The ideal candidate will be certified in Special Education. Individuals with a bachelor’s degree in a related field are eligible and will be considered. This is a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities :
- Teach assigned students / classes the approved curriculum.
- Engages students actively and meaningfully through lesson design, instruction, and assessment.
- Identifies and implements appropriate instructional practices and methods to meet students’ varying ability levels and special needs.
- Uses an appropriate variety and number of assessments to determine student academic progress.
- Provides written feedback to students on assessed material on a regular basis.
- Implements the IEP requirements of special needs students.
- Establishes communication with parents through a variety of means to inform them of academic and behavioral progress and achievement.
- Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations, including all mandated special education paperwork.
- Develops appropriate IEPs with measureable annual goals and SDIs based on student’s needs.
- Collaborates with regular education teachers and other staff to provide support, adaptations and modifications for students on their caseload.
- Attends all required special education trainings and in-services as specified by the supervisor of special education.
- Attends special education meetings (IEP / ER / RR) and building level team meetings as appropriate.
- Maintains confidentiality with student information.
