The Compensation and Workforce Planning Manager is responsible for managing compensation programs and workforce planning initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role will manage the compensation and classification systems and structure. The role will collaborate closely with college leadership to align workforce strategies with institutional goals and priorities.
Compensation and Classification Management:
o Design, implement, and manage compensation programs, ensuring competitiveness and equity.
o Conduct regular market analysis to benchmark compensation and ensure alignment with institutional goals and budgets.
o Maintain job classifications, salary structures, and compensation policies, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
o Create and manage the job description library for the college.
o Manage all compensation related services/applications, vendors, and vendor contracts.
o Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in a comprehensive, out-sourced compensation study.
Workforce Planning:
o Collaborate with department leaders to assess workforce needs and develop strategic staffing plans that align with institutional goals.
o Consult to establish compensation levels for new and existing roles.
o Use data to forecast future workforce requirements, identify staffing gaps, and plan accordingly.
o Provide workforce metrics and analysis to inform decisions on recruitment, retention, and overall workforce development.
Collaboration and Communication:
o Partner with the Director of Human Resources and college leadership to ensure workforce strategies are aligned with the college’s goals.
o Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation and workforce planning strategies and processes to ensure understanding and support across the institution.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation and workforce planning required, preferably in higher education.
Strong knowledge of compensation structures and strategies and workforce analytics.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and data-informed decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications such as CCP (Certified Compensation Professional), SHRM-SCP/CP, or similar.
Experience in an educational or public-sector environment.
