Position Criteria:
- Valid State of Iowa teaching license
- Talented and Gifted endorsement
- Previous experience teaching at the secondary level
Performance Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of the ELP learner based on current research
- Successful experience working with advanced and ELP learners
- Use of pedagogically appropriate/best practice instructional methods and a rigorous curriculum designed to prepare all students to achieve higher standards and become lifelong learners.
- Preference is given to instructor with demonstrated knowledge of PBIS, differentiating instruction, the use of data to guide instruction, understanding of talented and gifted learners, the Core, and 21st Century Skills.
- Preference is given to instructor with demonstrated knowledge of MTSS as it relates to gifted and high-level learners
- Ongoing collaboration with building leadership; commitment to the key processes in a professional learning community; ongoing support for data analysis
- Ability to plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of the students
- Ability to involve parents and communities in supporting student learning and healthy development.
- Ability to provide job-embedded and differentiated professional development
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development as described in the Iowa Professional Development Standards and support of the Iowa Teaching Standards as the foundation from which to build that ongoing growth plan
