What are the responsibilities and job description for the Librarian/Technology Teacher - Waterford (25/26) position at Waukee Community School District?
Terms of Employment: 194 or 196 days, depending on experience within WCSD
Position Criteria:
- Valid Iowa Teaching License, required
- Endorsement K-8 Elementary Teacher Librarian endorsement, required
- Assignment includes teaching one grade level of technology (3-4 sections over a 6 day cycle)
- Create and maintain healthy relationships with students
Performance Criteria:
- Comprehensive understanding of the elementary school library program, general education curriculum, and quality instruction
- Commitment to ordering appropriate materials to support the learning needs of all students
- Knowledge of and expertise with using current technology to enhance learning in the library
- Ability to collaborate or co-teach with general education teachers to meet all student needs
- Knowledge and experience in developmentally appropriate practices for the elementary school
- Preference is given to instructor with demonstrated knowledge of PBIS, differentiating instruction, implementation of SBAR, the use of data to guide instruction, the Core,and 21st Century Skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of the elements of a PLC and an ability to apply that understanding to a team situation
- A solid understanding of and experience in using multiple teaching methods: collaborating, co-teaching, whole group/small group/individualized instruction
- Understanding and experience with the workshop model and project based learning
- Understanding of formative assessment and evidence of using to adapt to individual needs of students of all ability levels
- Knowledge of various types of developmentally appropriate assessments of children.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precaution to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Evidence of effective routines and procedures that lead to a positive classroom environment that promotes student achievement
- Flexible, highly motivated, and enthusiastic about working with children
- Experience and proven ability in working with and growing diverse learners: Special Education, ELP, ESL, etc.
- Serve and meet the expectations for being a student advisor.
- Willingness to collaborate with instructional coach and other district leaders
