What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Admin - Summer School Edmentum Coordinator position at Waukegan Community Unit District 60?
- Assist in recruiting teachers;
- Prepare student rosters and assign classrooms;
- Ensure that assigned site(s) has the materials/resources, supplies and equipment needed to be successful within budget constraints;
- Work with approved professional development presenters and maintain required records;
- Monitor breakfast program;
- Monitor student transportation;
- Coordinate among classroom/sites to insure program integrity;
- Review teacher lesson plans for program integrity;
- Handle professional development logistics, e.g., facility, etc.;
- Work with central office personnel in employing and compensating staff;
- Work with professional development presenters to organize, prepare, and deliver sessions;
- Maintain student attendance records;
- Monitor completion of the individual reading inventories;
- Maintain teacher/administrator attendance at school and professional development sessions;
- Conduct and inventory of the purchased materials;
- Contact parents/guardians of students who are absent; hold parent conferences as necessary;
- Work with teachers in reporting student progress to parents during the Summer Bridges;
- Analyze and summarize program results;
- Prepare final report and submit to central office;
- Collect, analyze, and interpret district student assessments;
- Conduct a minimum of one observation in each classroom weekly and provide feedback;
- Prepare building rules for the summer;
- Actively participate in all professional development;
- Collect and review lesson plans weekly to ensure lesson plans are aligned with the designated curriculum;
- Distribute and collect program evaluation surveys, e.g., parent, teacher;
- Analyze professional development evaluations for continuous improvement of sessions;
- Work with professional development to maintain records for certificate renewal.
- Applicant must have valid Illinois Type 75 Administrative Certificate;
- Site administrators are expected to have an interest in program management and operation of and instructional leadership for reading improvement.

Our District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 – 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

Stipend: Per stipend contract
Currently scheduled for:
Up to 40 hours before summer school begins.
Required Staff Development: May 28, 2025 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Student attendance dates: June 3, 2025 to June 26, 2025 (no school 6/19 in observance of Juneteenth)
Student hours: Mon - Thur 8:30 am to 2:00 pm
Staff hours: Mon - Thur 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
