What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent Liaison Office Support position at Waukegan Community Unit District 60?
- Acts as a support for parents to bridge communication with schools.
- Conducts parent meetings for the purpose of gaining information and discussing needs/concerns involving their student and their families.
- Supports parents to gain resolutions to parent needs/concerns
- Confers with parents and school administration for the purpose of improving communication and fostering a positive connection between the home and the school.
- Supports the Area Superintendents with day-to-day office functions related to reports/written materials/photocopies/phone messages.
- Processes requisitions, maintains budgets, and collaborates with all departments to ensure orders are received in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with the Office of Student Outreach in cases of attendance and discipline.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to establish constructive relationships with parents
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Adapting to changing work priorities
- Basic knowledge of standard office equipment
- Bilingual preferred

Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 15,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 – 12th pgrade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

What We Need:
Under the direction of the Area Superintendents, the Parent Liaison supports communication between parents and schools, engages with parents around concerns to problem-solve, and performs related duties as required.
