Aquatics Lesson Instructor - PT
Status of Employment:
Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Compensation & Benefits:
Expected hiring range $15.00 to $16.00 based on education, experience, and skills.

Description:
Instruct participants of a wide and varying age range, who are participating in the swim lesson program.
Duties:
- Teach proper form and technique within class outline.
- Demonstrate, explain, and instruct in an informative manner to children and adults.
- Teach and maintain effectiveness of the swim lesson program.
- Maintain class rosters, lesson plans, mid-season progress reports, and report cards.
- Maintain appropriate contact with parents of swim lesson participants and address questions or concerns of parents in a timely manner.
- Ensure swim lesson equipment is in good working order before use.
- Wear Assigned uniforms at all times while on duty.
- Attend all pertinent departmental/park district meetings and in-house training sessions.
- Conduct self according to the policies and procedures established by the park district.
- Participate in park district Safety and Training Program to ensure that work performed and services provided are implemented in a safe manner.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education:
- Junior in High School or above.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
- Teaching swim lessons preferred.
- Working with children preferred.
Knowledge:
- Lifeguard standards preferred.
- Water Safety Instructor standards preferred.
- Bi-lingual Spanish desirable.
- Swim lesson plan development/execution.
Certification:
- Lifeguard Certification preferred.
- Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred.
- CPR/First Aid/AED Certification required.
Hours:
Tuesday - Friday 4:00pm - 8:00pm, Saturday 9:00am - 3:00pm
