Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Commercial Roofing Estimator / Project Manager at Waukegan Roofing Co., Inc. in Mundelein, IL. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing commercial roofing projects from their inception through completion, including budgeting and cost estimation, contract management, and ensuring projects meet their target milestones. This role will work closely with Operations to ensure the projects hit their targets, are installed to specifications, and adhere to industry best practices. The Estimator / Project Manager reports directly to the President.
Primary Responsibilities
- Understand the contract to ensure the Company’s responsibilities and scope of the work
- Responsible for catching deviations from the specifications and plans as it relates to scope, contract and schedule
- Generate estimates from blueprint drawings, specifications, field notes, field drawings, and actual field inspections
- Obtain all necessary information, such as : field inspections, measurements, photographs, and sketches required to provide accurate customer pricing
- Submit proposals to customers
- Communicate with owners, architects, engineers, general contractors and property managers
- Attend / conduct all weekly meetings in conjunctions with project start-up, pre-bid, sales, job progress
- Generate project budgets, submittals, equipment requirements, purchase orders, material lists, manpower requirements
- Conduct pre-job safety analysis of each project with Operations and Safety Manager
- Monitor job costs against original estimates, budgets and change orders
- Manage project closeouts and ensure warranty documents are requested and received
- Execute contracts with verified subcontractors
